Q+Law
Legal Services | State-Wide
Q+Law is a program of Fitzroy Legal Service in partnership with Queerspace that the Victorian Government supports. You can read more about our service here: Q+Law Free Legal Service for LGBTIQA+SB Victorians.
The main areas where we provide advice are the following:
• Discrimination, harassment and/or violence on the basis of LGBTIQA+ identity
• Issues affecting trans and gender-diverse people, such as name change or access to services
• Agreements and disputes about donor arrangements
• Complaints about police, corrections, healthcare and other service providers and about suppression practices (conversion therapy)
• Expungement of historical convictions for homosexual activity
• Immigration
• Family violence
• Employment law
• Tenancy law
We can provide ongoing legal assistance and representation on a case-by-case basis in our specialist areas, including discrimination, name changes and access to services for trans and gender-diverse people, as well as other areas as appropriate.
If an enquiry falls outside the scope of our service, Q+ Law will endeavour to provide a referral to a safe and specialist service that can meet the specific legal needs.
