headspace Bendigo Diversity Program

Loddon Mallee

headspace Bendigo is a HEY Partner, a Victorian Government funded initiative which aims to improve the mental health and wellbeing of LGBTIQA+ young people.
We have a dedicated LGBTIQA+ diversity worker who runs activities and events, educating and raising awareness in the community, at schools and other agencies and organisations in Bendigo.

Diversity Groups
The LBGTIQA+ diversity worker facilitates two support groups for LGBTIQA+ young people. These groups are an opportunity for young people to meet new people, socialise and build positive relationships. The groups are held in a safe, supportive, inclusive and positive environment where young people can celebrate their diversity
· Frogs (18-25years) – (Full Range Of Gender and Sexuality) Wednesday, 4-5.30pm
· Tadpoles (12-17years) – (Trans And Diverse People Openly Loving Everyone’s Sexuality)

Parent Support Group for Parents of Trans and Gender Diverse Young People
Our Parent Support Group for Parents of Trans and Gender Diverse young people is normally face to face at headspace Bendigo. During COVID restrictions it will be online.
The group meets once a month on a Monday night from 7-8.30. It is an opportunity for parents and carers to meet and share knowledge and information in a safe, confidential and supportive environment. We also have guest speakers who attend and share their knowledge of gender diversity based on lived experience or professional experience.
For further information regarding the support groups, please call Maree Dixon on 0427 375 656 or email: mareedixon@bchs.com.au
